Breaking News: BYE BYE Luella?

British label Luella has stopped trading on the London Stock Exchange after VSQ Limited, a subsidiary of Club 21 retail group ceased investments in the fashion house. The decision announced earlier this afternoon, comes just after the closure of Carla Carini, the label's ready to wear producers. 
Designer and former fashion journalist Luella Bartley, described today's events as a "very disappointing situation for everyone involved with the brand." No clear plans are set for the company's future, with Luella Bartley and some members of her staff acting as creative consultants for London department store Liberty, in the interim. When questioned on this, she said, "I love the Luella character and hope that after we have survived this challenging time, the Luella girl can have an exciting future ahead of her, whichever incarnation she takes on next."
